LIFESTYLE

Glenn Hechler is a wealth advisory professional with over twenty-five years of experience. He and his family are based in Westchester, NY, where he makes a point of staying involved in his community. Glenn is also an avid philanthropist. In addition to founding and funding several initiatives, Glenn is a member of multiple foundation boards.

An active committee member, Glenn Hechler, feels it is important to have his voice heard. As such, he’s joined several organizations and boards. One such organization is the Steven M. Perez (SMP) Foundation, of which Glenn is on the Executive Committee. The foundation directly honors Steven M. Perez’s memory by supporting those affected by Leukemia, either directly or indirectly. They’ve sponsored countless events, including the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Spring Fling Bachelor and Bachelorette Auction.

Glenn Hechler is also on the Executive Board of the Community Police Relations Foundation, acting as one of its directors. The foundation’s goal is dear to Glenn’s heart: to help strengthen the bonds between law enforcement and local communities. They hope this will make everyone safer, more prosperous, and happier. With Glenn’s help, the Community Police Relations Foundation hosts many different events, including a Celebrity Golf Tournament, NYPD Explorers Field Trips, and special dinners.

As if that weren’t enough, in 2023, Glenn Hechler joined the CPR Foundation as part of their Executive Advisory Board. Prior to joining the board, Glenn had been a member of the organization for over five years. Similar to the Community Police Relations Foundation, the CPR Foundation’s goal is to help bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community they protect. The organization hopes that small gestures and acts of kindness can build a foundation of trust between the two groups.

Serving on a nonprofit board requires dedication, expertise, and a passion for the organization’s mission. For Glenn Hechler, this role entails leveraging his extensive background in strategic planning, financial oversight, and community engagement to guide the nonprofit toward achieving its goals. Board members like Glenn must commit time and effort to attend meetings, participate in fundraising activities, and contribute to the development and implementation of policies. They must collaborate effectively with other board members and the organization’s leadership to ensure sound governance and ethical standards. Glenn’s ability to analyze complex issues, make informed decisions, and foster a culture of transparency and accountability is crucial in driving the nonprofit’s success and impact.

Outside of work and charitable giving, Glenn Hechler enjoys finding other creative ways to give back to his community. He loves participating in sports and enjoys finding new coaching opportunities. He’s taken this passion a step further by becoming the Vice President of the Executive Board of Somers Youth Sports Organization (SYSO). SYSO is entirely volunteer-run and dedicated to promoting and encouraging youth sports. It works with children between the ages of four and eighteen. SYSO offers coaching and promotions for several sports, including baseball, basketball, cheerleading, football, field hockey, lacrosse, wrestling, and softball.
